Rugby league fans that lived through the Super League war of the mid-1990s will well remember the high turnover of clubs as both sides sought to have the best national competition.

In 1995, the Australian Rugby League admitted the South Queensland Crushers and the Western Reds, who were both defunct by the end of the decade.  Super League added the Adelaide Rams and Hunter Mariners to their competition, but they too would be gone within a couple of years.  The disastrous merger between Manly and North Sydney saw the Northern Eagles compete for three seasons.

Yet, before Super League, there were other clubs that once briefly competed in the NSW Rugby League competition.  Teams such as Glebe, Annandale, University, Cumberland, and the Newcastle Rebels all took their place in the league.

This book lists all the scorers for these ten defunct clubs.  Fans of Newtown, or the legacy clubs that merged as part of the formation of the National Rugby League can find their stories in their own stand-alone books.
