North Melbourne needed plenty of patience before joining the Victorian Football League in 1925. Formed in 1869, the club that would become known as the Kangaroos were a foundation member of the Victorian Football Association competition in 1877, as Hotham.
The club was overlooked for the Victorian Football League on several occasions, despite being undefeated between 1914 and 1919. North Melbourne eventually gained admission to the VFL in 1925, but had to wait fifty years for their first premiership.
Relive each year of the North Melbourne Kangaroos in a round by round account of the Australian Football League competition. Including statistical information, this is a must for AFL fans everywhere.
