Canterbury entered the New Souths Rugby League premiership in 1935. After a series of hidings in their first year, the Berries, as they were known, soon became a premiership powerhouse.
Rebranding as the Bulldogs in 1978, Canterbury became known as the Entertainers, and the Dogs of War, as they adjusted their style as the game changed, to remain competitive.
Canterbury have shown their resilience by surviving both the Super League war, and a salary cap scandal, to remain one of the top teams in the league.
Players such as Eddie Burns, Les Johns, Steve Mortimer, George Peponis, Terry Lamb, Steve Folkes, Peter Tunks, Hazem El Masri, Steve Price and James Graham have become heroes for the club.
Relive each year of Canterbury’s journey in a round by round account of the premier rugby league competition. Including statistical information, this is a must for rugby league fans everywhere.
