Gold Coast have been active on the player market for 2019, as they attempt to improve on a disappointing fourteenth placing in 2018. Penrith utility Tyrone Peachey is the key signing, and is joined by Manly centre Brian Kelly, Canberra prop Shannon Boyd, and Melbourne five-eighth Riley Jacks. The Titans have lost Kane Elgey to Manly, and barnstorming centre Konrad Hurrell to Leeds.
Riley Jacks will compete with rookie AJ Brimson to see who partners Ashley Taylor at the scrum base. Anthony Don and Phillip Sami scored 29 tries between them in 2018, and will again provide the attacking fire power. The Titans backline will also include Dale Copley and Michael Gordon.
The Titans pack features representative players Jarrod Wallace, Kevin Proctor, and Nathan Peats, as well as Ryan James and Mitch Rein. Utility player Bryce Cartwright is one of the most skilled players in the league at his best, and Gold Coast will be hoping he returns to form in 2019.
