BOSTON RED SOX WIN WORLD SERIES

October 29, 2018

Boston Red Sox have won the 2018 World Series, defeating the Los Angeles Dodgers four games to one.  It is the second year in a row the Dodgers have finished as World Series runners up.

Game One turned on a three run home run from Boston’s Eduardo Nunez in the seventh inning.  The Red Sox ran out 8-4 winners, and went further ahead with a 4-2 win in Game Two, thanks in part to the pitching performance of David Price.

After two away losses, the Dodgers were happy to return to Los Angeles, and responded with a 3-2 win in Game Three, which went a record breaking eighteen innings, and over seven hours.  It was the last hurrah for the Dodgers, as they went down 9-6 in Game Four, and 5-1 in Game Five; both played in Los Angeles.  Steve Pearce hit two home runs for Boston in Game Five, and was named the Most Valuable Player of the Series.
