ADELAIDE WIN FFA CUP FOR THE SECOND TIME

Two goals from Craig Goodwin have secured the FFA Cup for Adelaide for the second time.  The Reds defeated Sydney FC 2-1 to deny the harbour city team back to back titles.  The scoreline reversed the result of the 2017 final which saw Sydney win 2-1 in extra time.

Less than two weeks ago, Adelaide and Sydney played a 1-1 draw in the opening round of the A-League season.  On this occasion, Goodwin opened the scoring in the 25^th minute, but Sydney levelled three minutes later, courtesy of a penalty from Adam le Fondre.

Craig Goodwin added his second goal in the 74^th minute, and Adelaide hung on to win the FFA Cup for the first time since 2014.  Goodwin was named the Man of the Match, and won the Mark Viduka Medal.
