THIS WEEK IN BASEBALL – CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES WEEK

The New York Yankees defeated the Oakland Athletics in the second wild card game, but were no match for the Boston Red Sox in the American League Divisional Series, going down three games to one.  The Houston Astros made a clean sweep of the Cleveland Indians, and now face the Red Sox in the American League Championship Series.  Game one is on October 13.

The Milwaukee Brewers cruised into the National League Championship Series after a 3-0 clean sweep of the Colorado Rockies.  The other National League Divisional Series battle saw the Los Angeles Dodgers defeat the Atlanta Braves three games to one.  Game one is on October 12.
