Conor McGregor returns to the UFC this weekend in Las Vegas to compete for the Lightweight Championship that he won in November 2016, but never defended. The two time UFC Champion will face Russia’s Khabib Nurmagomedov, who won the title earlier in the year. That event was marred by the arrest of McGregor and several others, following an attack on a tour bus. McGregor has been cleared by US authorities to compete.
Tony Ferguson, who won the interim Lightweight Championship before being injured, will face Anthony Pettis on the same card. The winner of that bout will surely be in line to face the winner of the McGregor VS Khabib fight at a future event.
