Australia has won the second women’s T20 match against New Zealand by six wickets, in Brisbane. The visitors batted first, and compiled 8/145, with opener Suzie Bates top scoring with 77 from just 52 deliveries. Megan Schutt was the pick of the Aussie bowlers, taking 3/15.
In reply, Australia looked in trouble at 2/37 after the dismissals of Beth Mooney and Ashleigh Gardner. Alyssa Healy steadied the ship with 57 from 41 balls, before Elyse Villani belted an unbeaten 50 from 39 deliveries to steer Australia to victory with six balls to spare.
The win sees Australia wrap up the three game series. The final game will be played in Canberra on Friday.
