BRISBANE WIN INAUGURAL WOMEN'S NRL GRAND FINAL

Brisbane have defeated the Sydney Roosters 34-12 to claim the inaugural women's NRL Grand Final.  Captained by test halfback Ali Brigginshaw, the Broncos raced to an 18-6 lead midway through the first half, and were never headed.

The Roosters won just one of their three preliminary games, and qualified for the Grand Final with a better for and against than St George-Illawarra and the New Zealand Warriors.  However, they were no match for the undefeated Broncos, conceding six tries.

Brisbane five-eighth Kimiora Nati won the Karyn Murphy Medal for being the best player on the field.
